Guild Application
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Please take out some time and answer all questions fully and honestly. We don't give kudos to applications filled out the fastest. On average, you should expect to devote at least 30-45 minutes on this application depending on the position desired. Social members should expect to devote 5-10 minutes on average. Our recommendation is to open up word pad or some other program to copy and paste answers for the line edit fields so that if the website crashes, you won't be SOL.

Please read all relevant information before posting. Any incorrect questions will likely have your application put on hold.

Please read the following thread BEFORE posting an application: http://mongeese.mmoguildsites.com/forum_threads/43340 Applicant Information

Please use correct grammar and spelling. We don't want to have to sift through short answers and acronyms to read your application. If your application is a burden to read, we will reject it. Also put as much time and thought as possible into each answer so that we can better get to know you. That means putting in longer than one word or one sentence answers.

We require the use of addons and outside software during raids. These include but are not limited to:
-Ventrilo
-Deadly Boss Mods
-Recount
-Omen
-Grid (or some other interface alternative that lets you display the entire raid’s HP bars)

Additionally, we will check periodically for those that have these mods and which are currently up to date. If you can not or do not wish to use these or their accepted alternatives, please do not apply at all because you will be quickly removed. If you have concerns about any of these or you have your own alternative, you may contact an officer to clear you.

We use and update our forums daily and you will be required to access the forums on a regular basis as well to be able to check DKP, boss strategies and class information. If you can not or will not do this, you will be quickly removed from the guild and the site.

Please do not try to slip one over on us. Most of our Guild Masters hail from highly technical backgrounds and some of us are very tech savvy. If you attempt to cheat your way into the guild or use shady methods to get out of guild runs, we will kick you and find someone else that doesn’t do it. Please respect us by doing what is asked of you and we will respect your application in turn.

You must provide a valid email address in order to accept the invite for the site.

Make sure that you choose the correct race and class from the drop down boxes.

Make sure each question is answered fully and completely.

After you have filled out this application, you may contact Raaji or Zickened, otherwise we'll contact you.

How did you hear about us? Please give us specific names of the people who referred you.
What other guilds have you been in?
What type of internet connection do you use (I.E. Cable, DSL, Satellite) and how do you connect to it (I.E. Wireless, Ethernet)? Please note that applicants who do not answer both of these questions will have their application automatically rejected.
What is your age? This question will not disqualify you. Please answer honestly.
Raiders make up the bulk of TFM's progression scene. They're the devoted members that show up for raids consistently and want to down progression content. They show up on time for raid nights and don't call it good until we kick them out of the raid. They're the ones chomping at the bit for sweet gear and wipe content. Signing up for raider status means making a commitment to a team and to yourself to show up to the content and perform the best. This also means that they take on the responsibility of our successes and our failures, from a team level to an individual one. To be a raider, you must be the best of the best and have a strong commitment to a common goal.

Social members make up the bulk of TFM's ranks. We love to joke around and have fun and hang out with everyone. We believe in having a diverse player and people base so that everyone can have fun in this game. Social Members aren't required to attend raids (except the ones they sign up for) but at the same time aren't given priority for raid invites. This is a great position if you're looking to gear yourself up with our successful members for future raiding status or if you just want to hang out with us. If you are applying as a social, you may disregard any further questions beyond the next one.
Are you applying as a raider or social?
Are you able to install and use the REQUIRED add-ons listed above?
The Flying Mongeese are a progression oriented group of people. While we occasionally re-clear our already progressed content, most of our nights are spent wiping on raid bosses. With that in mind, are you the type of person that likes progression content as much as we do and can devote potentially 4 hours a night wiping repeatedly for the sake of clearing one boss?
Why did you leave the guild(s) that you were in before?

Our 25 man raids are on Tuesday and Wednesday night from 8:00pm to 12:00am server time. We typically start sending out invites from 7:45pm - 8:00pm. The people that show up during that time typically have invite priority over those that come late. Since we only raid for 8 hours per week, 95% attendance is required. If for example you plan on being consistently late to raids, have to leave early or can only make 1 of the two days per week, please apply as a social or not at all.

Will you able to meet the attendance requirements fully?
What spec are you applying for?
Would you be willing to respec if necessary?
What spec would you prefer to play if we were recruiting any spec of your class?
Being dual-specced is also mandatory. Some of the newer, harder content requires the raid to change roles sometimes. Have you purchased the Dual Spec function and do you have a reasonably geared set for that offspec?
Please post your average main spec HPS/DPS/TPS during a typical 25 man raid. Please also list your offspec HPS/DPS/TPS in an average full run in a 25 man.
Please link your armory profile. Make sure that you are in your main spec gear.
We employ the services of Role Leaders. These people can help identify potential issues with your gear/movement/spec/rotation. If they approach you concerning improvements to your performance, are you willing to accept their criticism in a positive light and correct any potential issues that they have regarding those things?
Which WOTLK content have you completed?
Is there any additional information you‘d like to share that you didn‘t feel was covered above?
What is your favorite raid boss fight and why? Be specific and detailed.
25 man content PvE is our top priority, however we do occasionally PvP with our members. Which typle of play style do you like best?
We like to joke around and have fun. Please give us one of your best jokes. If you have to use Google to find one then do it. Please be respectful and leave the racist and dead baby jokes for your friends.
As an applicant, you understand that it is not our job to gear you for the content. It is your job to gear yourself (although we do plenty of guild runs together that not being able to get gear shouldn't be an issue).
If there is content that we will be working on, it is also your job to browse our forums to read up on the new strats as well. Additionally, while you do receive DKP for attending, you do not have any priority on loot that drops.
Application status does NOT guarantee raid spots, it only is a possible spot in the guild for future raids. Should you have any questions regarding our policies or dkp system, feel free to browse the appropriate threads on the guild site.
Attendance is paramount. You are required to raid the two days you agreed to. If you cannot make a raid, please post it in the General Forums with a reason and an advance of one days notice.
Applicants are ranked by a series of points. These points are positive and negative. In order to achieve raider status, you must accrue 25 positive points without going over 10 negative points.
You receive positive points like this: 4 points for showing up on time and 1 point as extra for excellent performance (I.E. following directions well, excellent dps/hps, being friendly with the raid, etc.)
You receive negative points like this: not showing up to a raid without notification is -8. Missing a raid with notice is -4 and being tardy and having frequent disconnects making us replace you is -2. Having a bad attitude towards other members or officers is -1. Please keep this in mind as these will also be posted on the forums.
Negative points are accrued by missing raids and attending late. You can only accrue 10 negative points before you are removed from the guild.
If you receive an invite to the guild, please accept the invite from the forums after you accept the guild invite. This is just as important as logging in daily to the game. On the forums will be dkp, application points, strats and off night runs to sign up for.
What time do we start inviting for raids at? We reject applications based on how correct your answer is here, don't miss it!
